Welcome to class!

In these courses, you will learn to create websites using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP. You’ll write code from scratch, use a framework, style and animate, and configure a content management system. We’ll use a variety of tools to plan, create, test, view, and promote websites.

Understanding this textbook

  • To view a list of your courses’s assignments, click the button on the left that pertains to your university course. (Click the expanding menu if you are viewing this site on a mobile device.)
  • Lessons in each chapter include required readings and code lessons in tabs.
    Tabs lead to sections of the lesson.
  • Complete each tab of each lesson of each chapter before submitting your work.
  • Most code samples are clickable so you can learn more about the tags used.
  • Most lessons have Quizzes to help you read critically. They can prepare you for your course’s graded quizzes.
  • Some lessons have screencast videos to aid auditory and visual learners. If you like to listen to the lessons, learn to use your computer’s listening tools.
  • Print complicated lesson pages before class so you can write detailed notes next to each step.
  • Ask for technical support as per your instructor’s requirements.
  • Use the Search field to locate Lessons then use the tabs in that lesson to locate a specific skill.
